Censorship this time...
[Quote] Britain's film board banned the sale of a Japanese horror DVD, saying Wednesday its violence is so extreme that it could cause psychological harm to audiences.
The film "Grotesque" is devoted most of its running time to the sexual assault and torture of its two main characters, the British Board of Film Classification said.
"'Grotesque' features minimal narrative or character development and presents the audience with little more than an unrelenting and escalating scenario of humiliation, brutality and sadism," the board said in a statement.
The film cannot be legally sold or supplied anywhere in Britain.
The board said the movie's nonstop scenes of torture -- including amputation, eye-gouging, castration and evisceration -- make it impossible to edit the film in a way which would make it acceptable for British viewers. [End Quote]
I vehemently oppose censorship and whilst there is little that can be done about the quality and accuracy of information disseminated down to the masses, tolerating it is the same as agreeing to it. Your choice is what matters.
I'm not too surprised it's the Japs this time... this sort of stuff probably seems normal after their efforts in WWII. No, you're not forgiven.

... can't complain to three days off courtesy of Canada's Civic holiday.
The IMAC National Scale Aerobatic Competition (RC planes) decended on our field for four days, effectively shutting us down for flying, but did bring lots of huge planes and excellent pilots to the area.
I spent a few hours Saturday taking pictures like this Sample shot (more here).
Monday holiday did allow some flying despite the weather. Oh, did I mention Ottawa has broken the record for the highest rainfall in summer since god was a small boy?
The rest of the weekend was spent building my Americas Cup yacht, ETNZ NZL-92 (weather appropriate hobby) which is progressing well.
Monday always see a few emails that amuse me, here is Tuesdays:

Straight back to the rockinghorse shit my friends. Oh, I have discovered that I no longer have the ability to use Google correctly. I will have a bloody stroke before getting results that are of any use. Hey, the designer of my boat, sitting in his villa in France had more luck than me. Most of that, I am convinced, is because Canada businesses decided not to go with that Google thing, as it probably wouldn't catch on.
So the short of it is this week has been spent driving all over the city in frustration, looking for the most benign items, talking to people who for the most part, think I am from another planet. I might as well be for the results.
So fuck you Ottawa.
