Food, PETA and the human animal...

I had an epiphany over the weekend...

I am amazed at myself and at humans as a race regarding how we treat animals and horrified at what it takes to shock me into doing something.

Five years ago I wouldn't watch clips of atrocities that people would send me as some form of entertainment, now very little shocks me.

This documentary shocked me. It is designed to do so. Enough to donate to PETA.

I watched Earthlings... and despite the graphic content, I want everyone to see it.

Not because I want to bash you with my beliefs or ethics, but because we humans are supposed to be the highest form of evolution and as such, have the last say in things we do.

Understand how that delicious steak made it to your fork, what happened in the event chain prior to the moment you eat it.

Know, understand, decide. Understand is the key word here.

Like most, you will continue to enjoy your dinner as you have your whole life. For some, like me, I am challenging the accepted normality of process and making changes for what I believe in.

I will give respect to an animal long before a human. People earn respect from me, it's not given it by default.

Watch the documentary. Think.
